Special topic issue of ASR: "Spectral Line Shapes in Astrophysics and Related Phenomena"
All contributions presented at the 9th SCSLSA metting, that are related to the spectral line investigation in
astrophysics, are invited to submit appropriate manuscripts for a special topic issue of
Advances in Space Research (ASR) on "Spectral Line Shapes in Astrophysics and Related Phenomena".
Submission of papers is open to the entire scientific community. This special issue is open to all scientists who wish to submit an appropriate scientific paper related to the topic "Line Shape in Astrophys". Manuscripts must not have been submitted elsewhere.
The spectral lines, their widths, and shapes, are powerful tools for emitting/absorbing gas diagnostics in different astrophysical objects (from the Solar system to the most distant objects in the Universe - quasars). The emission/absorption lines of astrophysical objects are produced over a wide range of distances from an observer and under a wide range of physical and kinematical conditions. Therefore in astrophysical objects the lines from X-ray (Fe K alpha) to the radio (radio recombination line) have been observed. On the other hand, the experimental and theoretical investigations of laboratory plasma have been applied in spectroscopic astrophysical research, especially atomic data needed for line shape calculations. In this special issue we are going to publish papers which will give review and present investigation in astrophysics where spectral line shapes have been used as a tool to investigate physical and kinematical properties of celestial objects. Moreover, there will be a number of studies of spectral line shapes in laboratory plasma and about atomic data needed for calculation of spectral line properties.
Papers must be submitted electronically to http://ees.elsevier.com/asr. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue, authors must select "Special Issue: Line Shapes in Astrophys" when they reach the "Article Type" step in the submission process.
Submitted papers must be written in English and should include full affiliation addresses for all authors. Only full-length papers will be considered for publication, subject to peer review by two reviewers. There are no page limits although the length of the paper should be appropriate for the material being presented. While the deadline for submissions is July 01, 2013, papers will be published electronically as soon as they are accepted, after review process is over. The printed issue will be assembled within a reasonable time with late papers being printed in regular issues of ASR. All articles will be typeset at no cost to the author; there is a nominal charge for printing color figures although there is no charge for color figures on the electronic version.
General format for submission of papers: see the ASR Elsevier web site at http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/644/authorinstructions
Deadline for submissions: July 01, 2013
This deadline is set by the Journal and very strickt. Please note that after this date the page for submission
of manuscript will be closed.
The website for the submission of manuscripts is now OPEN!
